Chapters

To foster collaboration among members sharing common research interests, ISP intends to establish the following study groups. Members passionate about leading or joining any of these groups are encouraged to contact ISP President Dr. Rams. Members may join any number of study groups that align with their research focus.

  • Proteinopathy Chemistry and Biology Study Group

  • Protein-specific Study Groups:

    • Amyloid beta Study Group (e.g., Alzheimer's disease)

    • Tauopathy Study Group (covering primary tauopathies like frontotemporal dementia, Pick's disease, progressive supranuclear palsy, corticobasal degeneration, globular glial tauopathy, argyrophilic grain disease, aging-related tau astrogliopathy, primary age-related tauopathy, and secondary tauopathies including Alzheimer's disease, chronic traumatic encephalopathy, Down syndrome, and dementia with Lewy bodies)

    • Synucleinopathies Study Group (e.g., Parkinson's disease, Parkinson's with dementia, dementia with Lewy bodies, multiple system atrophy)

    • Huntington Study Group (e.g., Huntington disease)

    • Islet amyloid polypeptide (IAPP) Study Group (e.g., type 2 diabetes)
